About Physics

The Department of Physics offers the study programs in Applied Physics for Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree and Doctoral’s degree since 1983. These programs are specially designed for  students who want to learn physics and also are interested in engineering and  in new technology.  The department is research-intensive and our degrees are thesis-based involving a research project which builds on the courses taken.

The Bachelor’s degree program is a four-year course. The core subjects for years 1-2 are the fundamentals of physics and related scientific subjects which are the basic of today’s technology. In years 3 and 4, students may choose the major subject of their interest. To foster class learning and research skill, the Department also provides a number of laboratories specializing in many areas of research. The fourth year students have to do their special projects.

Master’s degree program is a two-year research based course. Doctoral’s degree program is a three-year research based course.

The four majors are as follows.
